Trevor is a life-long student with a passion for learning, teaching, and furthering scientific knowledge across the globe. After receiving his Master's degree in Academic Research in Biological Psychology from Humboldt State University, he began teaching as a substitute teacher in his home community while simultaneously volunteering at the Etkin Lab at Stanford University, a neuroscience lab focused on researching brain activity to improve treatment for emotional disorders such as post traumatic stress disorder and depression. Trevor was hired full time within 6 months and worked at the lab for 3 years, working on numerous projects with a variety of patient and healthy populations, focusing on using methods such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Electroencephalography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and intracranial electrical stimulation to measure and record brain activity. During his time at Stanford, he volunteered with Brain Day, an educational program that takes human and animal brains to local middle schools and teaches students about the structure and functions of the brain. He is currently working on a team at Aduro Biotech, a small biotechnology company, researching a very promising proprietary drug to help patients with Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy, a rare renal disease. He is also actively involved working with the high school youth program on a weekly basis. He is an avid sports fan, runner, and video gamer and loves to travel as often as possible.
